Minor internet coincidence: I used one of my (awesome) Pride & Prejudice icons (actually this one) made by Red Scharlach on LJ and the recipient of the comment mentioned how awesome the icon was. Because it was.

For some reason I cannot remember, I was just this evening checking through the comments to my one and only HP fic on, would you believe, fanfiction.net, and found there a comment from Red Scharlach.

Tomorrow, I am going to have lunch with someone I was at school with. I'm not sure I can say, 'was friends with at school', but it should be interesting, at any rate. Well, we're going to The Belgian Monk, so there will be raspberry beer.

Sable seems to have literally twice as much fur packed onto her tiny body as Fluffy does. She would make excellent gloves.

Lunch went remarkably well - I don't think I'd have recognised her although I could see in her face the girl she used to be. We had a very nice catch-up, and probably got on better than we did as schoolgirls!

We have had very little snow here, just enough to whiten the grass a couple of days ago and keep it white.

Judging from how they look in photos you would think it was Fluffy who'd the most fur. I gather Sable has one of those dense, plushy furs then?

I seem to have a mild addiction to the halloumi burger along with Wittekirche Rose beer. Nom!

Yes - sable's fur isn't as long but it is *so* dense. I'm sure it ought to be brushed, but it's not easy to get near her with a brush. Every so often there are little tufts of Sable sticking out, and you can just pluck them from her, which can't be right, but she's skittish enough about being petted, the brush is 98% of the time a step too far. It feels *lovely* to stroke, though!

Lancecat's fur does that little tufts thing too! So it's probably quite normal for short, plushy furs. Though Lancecat's fur is really far too long and fluffy to be called plushy, but as a British Shorthair he's SUPPOSED to have it :-)

You will have to come and meet my cats. Perhaps stay here on the way to Camp this year!

Oh, well, that's *vastly* more convenient for Bath than Norwich is. I'm keeping an eye open for a good house somewhere in East Anglia for a future Camp!

The most surprising part of that anecdote is for sure the phrase "fanfiction.net". Yowza.

Oh, old school stuff, definitely. I've had my stuff up there since 2002.

I find it pleasing that some people at least maintain a consistent identity across the internet. Every so often I'll spot a name I recognise from a previous life—my Trek days, say—and be pleased.
