wow, that banner is HUGE! what a feat indeed.

I wish I could sign the Petition, but don't want to add to any possibility of accusations of foreign interference in UK politics (even if it's not binding, as voting is)

Quite so. The BBC reckons that at least 96% of votes are legit from the UK, and there are bound to be UK citizens who happen to be elsewhere who are signing it. You have to respond to a pingback email in order to actually sign, so I think it would take a lot of extra, quick work to set up bots to do it.

I assume that if someone wanted to fake a lot of signatures they'd just pay someone else to do it, in the way that people pay to have social media campaigns boosted and ad campaign results faked. Someone would have to pay for it, and it seems like a pointless waste of money, but I don't think it would be difficult to arrange.

I expect you can get it done if you pay for it. But the people who might be willing to pay for it seem mostly to be on the side of chaos rather than order and would have no interest in boosting a pro-Remain petition. Except, of course, to discredit it.

Well, no, I agree. Sadly. I don't know that the march will have the slightest effect either, even if current estimates are more in the 1.5 million range, but it's something we *can* do, in a situation where there doesn't seem to be much.
