pensnest: Scarlet gift box with gold ribbon (Christmas box)
[personal profile] pensnest
Another hilarious 'ladies who chat' session this morning, featuring one woman's adventures with her carbon monoxide alarm and her dachshund pooping on the bus.

Afterwards I was briefly diverted by the shiny, when I found an interesting collection of Christmas tree ornaments. Fish I can understand—they glitter well and even have a Christian association—and I bought one of the sea-urchin-esque baubles, but lobsters? Blue sequinned crabs? (I guess I did recently purchase a glass octopus so perhaps I should not cavil.) There were the usual reindeer and robins, but also owls, foxes and red squirrels. And of course nothing announces that Christmas is nigh like a bejewelled snail, amirite?

If you would like a card from me to salute the festive season (whatever that may mean) please comment with your address. I have some *adorable* UNICEF cards I am longing to send to good homes, and some of you might instead receive a home-made card. Let me know if you'd particularly like a religious one. Comments are screened.

Owls and foxes are both very In, and adorable. I have no idea why a sparkly snail, but then again why not?

. . . That seems wrong. And I support multicoloured decorations!

(The last several years, I've noticed the baubles on sale, when not silver/gold/red all one colour, are frequently multipacks of purple/teal/hot pink/lime green. Which is. . . definitely a choice?)
