I spent much of the day shopping with Bun, firstly for her belated birthday present, but after a few minutes in Debenhams that was done. Odd, that she is so easily able to find things that really work for her in Debenhams. I cannot achieve that particular alchemy at all, though I tried on a few hats.

We did a slightly shambolic shop but all in all got a useful haul of Stuff. And had a very nice lunch at the Portuguese tapas place. *Awesome* chargrilled pork ribs.

I see someone is doing a new Pratchett adaptation. *cautious yay*

Anna Chancellor as Vetinari… yes, I can see that. (We've been re-watching Pride and Prejudice, in which she plays Miss Bingley.) Adam Hugill (who? you ask, and I reply this chap) as Carrot, yes, indeed. I do hope he is ChrisHemsworthshaped.

This chap seems like a reasonable attempt at Sam Vimes, but for me, the true face of Vimes is this one. Alas, not available for casting.

Hmm. Which actors, alive or dead, do you see as Terry Pratchett's characters?

I saw Paul Darrow as Vimes in Guards Guards in the late 90s (or maybe 2000) and he was perfect... I'm trying not to have any feelings about any of the adaptations before I actually see them, but mostly I'm very "nope, not mine" about the casting I've heard for things. Anna Chancellor's an interesting choice, though, I'd like to see that.

Chargrilled pork ribs sounds very yummy!

I can sort of see Maggie Smith as Granny Weatherwax.

Definitely a possibility. Trying to come up with someone who would make a believable Nanny Ogg seems pretty impossible though.

Pete Postlethwaite was always Vimes to me, and Liz Spriggs as Nanny Ogg.
