pensnest: cabled section of knitting in deep green variegated yarn (Knitting pride)

I have just uploaded four finished projects to Ravelry. The Neon Scarf and Subtle Scarf are ones I knitted some years ago, and realised I hadn't put up there, so they don't really count, but if you are a Ravelry user you can find them there—I'm Nestholder.

The Posh Lace scarf is rather fabulous, knitted from the upper of the two yarns in this pic:
Two skeins, one orange/pale lilac/yellow/grey, one shades of red and purple

Posh

As you can see, it is too long to fit onto a bed, so I had to fold it over. It is very light, as the yarn is laceweight, and drapes beautifully.

The second, and rather more interesting to knit, is the Bambara Wrap which I call my 'Harvest Stripes'.

A closer look:

An even closer look at one end

I seem to have been in a very orange mood of late, but I noticed a lovely soft grey merino/silk/yak laceweight in my top drawer, and am thinking of making another Bambara wrap using it and a colourful variegated yarn. But what colours should I pick?

Pretty! The subtleties of the color in the Posh Lace are lovely, and I really like the sense of balance in the Bambara Wrap.

It's endlessly fascinating to me how different yarns look balled up vs. knitted or crocheted into a finished piece.

They look beautiful, especially the second one, but do you find that lacework snags on things when you wear it?

Ooh, they're both lovely!! I think I like the second one a little bit more though, it's the orange ;-) And the way you've combined those three yarns are perfection!

Orange is a fabulous colour!

I think purple would look nice with a soft grey too.

I voted pink/lilac/blue, but there's nothing wrong with leaning even further into the orange thing! Orange is awesome, and sadly underrated!
