That pairing of joy. Apparently, ALL the Lance Bass/Adam Lambert works on AO3 were either created by me or created for me. Nobody else has written in (at least, I haven't looked on Nifty, but not on AO3).

I cannot believe that this delightful pairing has only one writer. Are you dubbing it the Honey Lambs, or is there another smash-up name like the adorable NSYNC pair names?

If this were 40 years ago, or maybe 20 years ago, Lance being married would be a stumbling block to some fans, for pairing him with somebody else. Others just say the fiction is, well, *fiction* or specifically AU, and go with it. At any rate, go with the joy. That's what we're here for.

Iusually call it Lambass, which isn't as pretty as Honey Lambs, but the latter only occurred to me when I was looking for a lyric title for this post. I wish I had thought of it before! But there is one other author - she has written two stories as gift fics for me, which is delightful. And there's artwork from one of the Big Bangs.

Mind you, one advantage of being almost the only writer of this pairing - when the two of them were photographed together (at last), my friends were eager to make sure I knew!

By the time Lance got married, I'd already been writing him for several years, so I didn't worry about it. I've even managed to write at least one canon-based story with a popslash pairing that incorporates his husband without trying to get into the marital bed (which I have no desire to do!). I know popslash used to find all kinds of nasty ways to get rid of Joey's wife so that he could have a pure, loving relationship with [male of choice] and no icky vaginas to worry about - fortunately the fandom grew up as it declined, and vicious divorced/flaming fiery deaths were no longer in vogue. These days I just go with AUs. And the joy!

By all means, Lambass. Names with that much assonance aren't hard to work with.

Yeah, fandom (that is, slash fandom) hasn't always treated women characters well, which is ironic or something. (Are these writers twelve? Maybe some are!) I like the focus on joy instead.

I'm fairly sure that the change in treatment of women (or at any rate, that one woman) was because most of the fandom went off after the next pretty. It made me very sad to see my beloved fandom diminishing, but what was left was more strongly influenced by those who remained. It has been particularly interesting to see how the Secret Santa exchange stories changed - virtually no Justin, virtually no JuC, quite a lot of Joey, more Backstreet, and many cheerful threesomes!

I am pretty sure you're right! I ventured thither, just to see, and found that their "index" is so absurd that it wasn't worth the effort, but I clicked on something and gave up after the first sentence. So there's that.
