That ending was SPECTACULAR. Loved it. The style of writing took me a little while to get into, but once I figured out what the narrator's perspective was, I could really get into the story. It was a beautiful characterization. Thank you for the good read.
Oh, wow. This story really hit close to home for me (being an overweight and scaley woman whose unfaithful boyfriend just dumped her). Your main character was extremely unpleasant; but I mean that in the best way possible. To me, there's always some little thing I can find in a character to like or relate to, but you somehow managed with the amazing feat of making her completely cruel and mean.
I loved the way you wrote this, it felt very fresh and original. Despite the fact that there was no dialogue, everything was still very clear and easy to understand what was going on.
Thank you so much for the feedback - I'm so glad it was always clear what was going on. I'm overweight and psoriasis-ridden myself, in fact, the treatment is something I had a course of a couple of years ago, which seemed to fit the prompts very well. It was really fun writing from the POV of someone I don't like!
Excellent work with the voice of the character. Perfect little bitch, isn't she? And I agree, amazing ending. I wasn't expecting it at all, even though I probably should've been. Loved the story. Love getting into character's heads like this, no matter how despicable they are(although I do suppose there is a limit).
I loved this! The voice, the ending, the meanness...I loved all of it! I thought the almost `stream of consciousness` style fit the story perfectly, and the ending...daaamn! :D I have to admit to laughing out loud at it, even though a part of me felt horribly guilty for being amused, but I think I just have a weakness for unrepentantly bad characters. Excellent story.
Thanks! And thank you again for providing the impetus. I seem to write with much more determination when there is (a) an external spark, and (b) a deadline.
