I turned on the computer this morning and went to make myself porridge—in a saucepan—and the computer still had not booted up by the time I had eaten the porridge! So Beast was hauled in to do his computer thing.

Which appears to have worked, although weirdly, two weeks of my emails appear to have vanished. We suppose the backups were not working properly for that time. But I don't *think* I've done anything vital during those two weeks.

Eh. I spent the morning catching up on some glasspainting instead, which was very nice.

I just posted my last post to LiveJournal.

I had been cross-posting for many years, and very few were the comments to the Dark Side. Most of my LJ friends are now here. But I read the post in dw_maintenance about the general fuckery going on at LJ, and decided, no. I don't want inadvertently to be part of the problem, and enough is enough. Besides, DW has been my primary journal for many years now.

The only thing is that you have to balance it slightly askew because so much of the weight on one side is gone!

Those slipper embellishments are lovely, and they go perfectly with the pretty socks! And that is indeed one fantastic clock.

It's depressing how far downhill LJ has gone since its heyday. At least we have another option here.

I found that I hardly ever bothered to look at my LJ flist any more, because people are here or elsewhere, not on LJ any more, by and large. But it is sad.

I'm very grateful I deleted my LJ journal years ago so I don't have to get drawn into the current fuckery. I feel really sorry for everyone who is, particularly the DW staff who have to deal with those idiots.

I think you did well to delete your LJ a long while back. It hasn't been 'the same' in a very long time. Not that I was ever troubled with ads, but eh.

It is very weird having a gap in the email history, particularly since I know I received and read them.

I have discovered that slippers really don't stay viable for long - as I have to keep a pair of orthopaedic inserts in them, I'd like them to have structure. But a band across the front helps to keep them snug. And, to look pretty!
