I don't think I'll do the Eurovision Song Contest again. Overall, it's just not that interesting - not enough bizarre and *far* too many crazily flashing lights. However, it was worth a go. There were a few memorable costumes—the Spanish lady's buttocks, the Norwegian wolves, the Wurzel-esque everything of Moldova's group, the medical nuns with dead eyes (Serbia).

I loved the drone tour of Italy idea. I've wanted to go to Italy for many years now; now I *really* want to go to Italy. So beautiful.

The result was exactly as it should be, and the judges' result was also exactly as it should be: I have had Spaceman in my head this morning and cannot actually remember any of the others. Though I did think poor Switzerland was badly shafted by the public vote - that guy deserved some points.

Beast, Boy and I went out for lunch yesterday, to a place called Estabulo which turned out to be Brazilian. I'd never encountered this kind of place before, but some of you will probably say oh yeah, that's what they do. Rotizio? Waiters came round bearing tall skewers of meat, from which they would carve you a slice or slide you a lump/sausage. Anyway, it was all very good. A vegetarian would be hard done by and probably offput, but could in fact make a pretty good meal from the salad bar, fries and garlic bread. The honey-glazed carrots were *so* good!

Some of the tastiest food I've had has been from a Venezuelan place in my city. Everything they make is glutenfree, and they have a wide range of
- meat
- seafood
- cheese
- beans

as a vegetarian I felt the Venezuelan place had plenty of options ^_^

We have a Brazillian restaurant called Tucano's in town. Before my parents passed, that had become one of our three favorite celebration restaurants (birthdays, etc). They even offer a free meal on your birthday as long as you have one paying guest. Ours is very nice, for instance, my family prefers meat med-rare, so if the meat is too done for us and we tell the server, they will bring back some med-rare for us, very accomodating.

They also have a very nice triangular buffet with a great selection of salad makings on one side, but also another side with prepared salads (like pasta salad, broccoli salad, etc), and some seafood and sushi options, the other side had soups, rice, beans, hot bread, mashed potatoes and other hot food selections. You can purchase the buffet alone, so that would be a fine option for vegetarians. *G*

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The ESC seemed a bit ballad heavy yesterday which is a shame. I did enjoy it, but it's a pity that more out there entries didn't get to the final.

I do like how you can never be sure what will grab the attention of the voting public/judges, from Måneskin to Conchita Wurst to Lordi and everything in between.

Spaceman is such a good song, one of the few I remember too.

Your lunch sounds great. Glad you enjoyed it.

(In the Before Times) I once went to a Brazilian place like that for a group lunch outing with my co-workers. It was delicious but rather overwhelming with all the different offerings we wanted to try and then have more of. The place you went sounds excellent!

I'm not much of a meat eater but that sounds like a fun way to serve it. Honey-glazed carrots sounds delicious!
