Well, darn it. My computer is playing up again, not backing up to the right device, and refusing to notice when a thumb drive is plugged in. Also taking about five minutes to start up. So tomorrow it is going back to the Apple Hospital, and if last time is any indication, it'll be there about a week.

WOE.

I have options, of course. I have other computers. The old Mac is still reliable and splendid, but it doesn't get connected to the internet these days because it is so out of date. (Which is why I can use Photoshop etc on it and do recordings and play some elderly games.) The laptop will probably do for internet stuff. But email is going to be tedious.

Worst of all, I am participating in the pod_together challenge, and have recorded a story, using the software on the old Mac. Trying to transfer it to this one is how I discovered the problem. There should be some kind of horribly convoluted solution, but GAHHHH!

In better news, it rained quite hard today!

Oh no, how super frustrating! Good luck with getting your recording where you need it to be. I'm doing pod_together also, but on the text side, so I have the luxury of leaving the work of the recording to my project partner - but I can see how much effort it takes to manage.

It's *SO* frustrating! I'd found a perfect song to use, but cannot get the song onto the computer where SoundStudio actually works, to integrate it with the recording. Well, if worst comes to the worst I can probably get the recording onto this machine (laptop), but gah. Wot a palaver.

The rain here is mostly just teasing. Even though it came down quite firmly yesterday, 'twas only for a few minutes. All the bushes are looking very dejected, and the grass is beige. I firmly believe that the trees all think the end is nigh, which is why they are burdened acorns/beech nuts/sycamore seeds etc.

Thank you. It may be some long-buried issue - the Genius Bar guy was surprised that it might be showing memory issues because it was high spec. I just hope they find out what is wrong, this time round!

Oh no, not again!! It's such a bother when your computer acts up and even more so when they do it repeatedly. You have all my sympathy! I hope they manage to fix whatever is wrong PROPERLY this time! Also that you'll get your pod_together where it needs to be somehow.

At least I have *done* the recording, and can probably figure out how to get it to someone else, at least!

But, gah. There is so much on my usual computer that just isn't elsewhere.
