There were two mysteries in my post yesterday. A parcel was on the doorstep when we got back from the gym, a parcel which turned out to contain tasty food treats, but was unidentified as to donor. Completely anonymous! And when the post arrived, there was a card with nothing inside it but the printed 'Merry Christmas'. Completely blank!

*shakes head*

It occurs to me it would be a good idea to recap the cards I have received from my DW peeps, in case I've forgotten to mention any (very likely). So thank you to [personal profile] turlough, [personal profile] oldtoadwoman, [personal profile] dine, [personal profile] frausorge, [personal profile] rikes and [personal profile] nopseud - your parcel also arrived safely! [personal profile] ephemera already knows her parcel got to me. *beams*

Beast got the tree out of the garage this morning. There was a butterfly on it, a peacock. It was opening its wings briefly and randomly, but I failed to get a photo at the crucial moment, or I'd have posted it. The butterfly, now inside the house, has disappeared. I expect it can find a dark, quiet corner somewhere.

How very odd about the mystery post.

A peacock butterfly! I only know them from Animal Crossing, haha. They're so pretty, though!

That is a mystery. Maybe you both have a secret admirer?

A peacock butterfly sounds beautiful.

A Christmas Mystery! (Or rather two Christmas mysteries :-) I hope you'll find out who the sender are for both of them.

I didn't know peacocks could hibernate in trees. Hopefully it found another quiet place to spend the winter.

I think most butterflies hibernates as chrysalises but peacocks and brimstones hibernate as adults. Which is why they're usually the first butterflies you see in Spring. They mate and lay eggs and then they die. The new generation will be born late in the summer and then hibernate. (It's amazing the things you learn when you want to find out more of the stuff you've taken photos of :-)
