When I wandered into Jarrolds, Nsync were wishing me a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, which was nice.

We went to the post office yesterday to send a few small parcels and a bunch of cards abroad.
Yikes.

Might not be doing that next year.

Argh. Beast is working on his new chorus song, listening to the teach track and singing along. Over and over and over.

Can anyone think of some cheerful and widely known Christmas songs? I have a few in mind, but they're ones my chorus has already had and has discarded. We need a cheerful number to counteract In the Bleak Midwinter, I'll Be Home for Christmas, and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

There are also a bunch of Wassail songs more or less about the generous hoped-for food from lords to peasants, but whether they're cheerful is kind of variable.

I suspect it'll be harder to find suitable arrangements than to think up songs, but I will add that to the list—thank you.

That reminds me we did a version of While Shepherds Watched in a folk choir I sang in. Having found it on youtube, it turns out it's a tune from West Somerset. I sang in a different choir run by Yvette to this one and I remember it going a bit faster.

I love the version of 'While Shepards Watched' to the tune of Ilkley Moor. (Ironically, the carol version is actually the older of the two!)
