Anniversary

It is exactly a year since I posted My First *Nsync story. Hee. Alas that I have no fiction ready for posting in celebration.

In other news, my sister has got herself an LJ account. I have warned her Not To Read The Stories here, but... well, who knows. Caveat Lector.

I have converted my brother to the goodness that is Firefly by gifting him the DVD set for his birthday. Go me.

The Milton Keynes location for Camp Sparkly looks like a non-starter, most unfortunately. Are there other organisations besides the YHA which rent out houses, does anyone know? We should investigate the options, stat.

Wheee ~ another Browncoat! I haven't watched the series in a long time. Or the movie (all the way through) and really should remedy that. Maybe I can take it to my mom's next week and convince her to watch it, but I'm not counting on it.

Yeah, Firefly is Good Stuff. My bewildered brother was most upset, having viewed the boxful, that there was no more to be had. Though he did order 'Serenity' right away. (I had assumed he'd seen the film, as he's a cinema manager...)

I remember when I first got the series, something happened when I was still watching disc one and I'd missed Trainjob and Bushwacked for whatever reason and skipped right along to disc 2. Then I got the end of disc 4 and was very sad that it was done... Only to discover a day or so later that YAY! I'd somehow missed two episodes and could get a bit more of a fix... Then there were the commentaries, bloopers, Adam singing Hero of Canton (badly), etc. *sigh* Love my Cappy.

The only sad thing about that is that the episodes got (even) better as you progressed further through the discs. But yes, much to enjoy with the commentaries and suchlike - Joss's one for 'Out of Gas' and the 'War Stories' one with Nathan and Alan are particularly fun. In fact, I'm inclining towards a Firefly marathon over Easter. Yes, that would be nice. Could also watch the Serenity commentary.

I gave my best friend a DVD set too, as it's also her birthday this month. Am Doing My Bit.

I'm trying to think. (shhh) Which is the episode that Morena did commentary for? I think with Nathan? Because that was a good one too, though I still like the one for War Stories best. :-D

I wondered about unis and such, though if we are aiming for November, that won't be very practicable. There are 'cottages' and largeish houses available, though of course most of them are quite expensive, and offer all sorts of incentives that we don't need, given we're unlikely to stir out of doors for clay pigeon shooting or, actually, anything else.

I did find the PGA stuff, but it does look a bit *too* basic for sybaritic fans. Also, some 'retreat' style places, which are regrettably un-forthcoming on details, but might be useful.

What are our criteria?

Yup, self-catering, 20+, also with a big enough dining room for us all to sit down together. In an idea situation, a lounge as well, for the better viewing of footage. Accessible is good, too!

Oh, I always incourage my sister to read the stories, but she doesn't want to. :(

Camp Sparkly, ha! I was gonna suggest making a real camping trip out of it, but I guess the footage watching clashes with the outdoors.
