It's St George's Day

It is also, as it happens, my Adorable Niece's birthday. Happy Birthday, Adorable Niece!
So.
I've been enjoying the wonderful world of popslash for not much more than a year now, and there are many, many things of great goodness here (quite apart from all you lovely people, of course!). There are suddenly transgendered boybanders, sundry animals, wings, lava lamps, bodyswaps, pregnancies, and I know not what. But with all this abundance, there is something missing.
There are not enough DRAGONS.
With your help, I should like to remedy this deficiency. On this entirely appropriate day, I am issuing a Dragon Challenge.
Please - write a story with a dragon of some sort. It can be literal, metaphorical, figurative, or, um, something else. All I ask is that it features at least one member of *NSYNC or BSB as the main character, and that it is at least 500 words long. For the rest, it's up to you.
I should very much like to release the dragon stories into the world on D-Day, that is, 06-06-06. Nice and memorable. (It is, incidentally, also My Birthday.) Deadline will therefore be noon (BST) on June 5th.
Go on. Give it a go. I mean - DRAGONS! (Also, you know this story is going to fit one of the
fanfic100 or
slashfic25 prompts, don't you?)
Comment below to let me know that you're thinking of participating, and I will email you details on how to submit your story, and a reminder nearer deadline. And you'll be anonymous for, um, at least a week after your story is made available, a whim of mine. I approve of anonymous challenges.
Do pimp this notion far and wide, please. The world needs more Dragon stories.

Date: 2006-04-23 09:59 am (UTC)Hey, when you say not enough, have I missed any others? Betty Plotnick's Seahorse story, maybe, I seem to recall it touched on dragons too?

Hm, I don't know. I haven't found it, but you might be able to find it via the wayback machine. Or I could send it to you as well, if you want.

Date: 2006-04-24 10:42 pm (UTC)I managed to resist for a while, but really, some of my best stuff has been for challenges, and I have a challenge of my own coming up soon, so I'd feel bad if I wanted people to join mine but refused to join others myself, right?
So count me in!
