pensnest: unicorn cake, fabulously iced in rainbow colours (rainbow unicorn)
We exercised with the fitness bands yesterday. I had devised a considerably longer program, and I think it gave us a workout that was reasonably comparable to being in the gym—neither of us ever gets a very high heart rate from resistance machines, so working with the band resistance was good enough in that respect. If you're looking to get some fitness bands, I don't particularly recommend the meglio brand: the bands are wide but insubstantial, and the resistance is a bit feeble. Beast and I are using the two highest strengths (we go down to the medium/high bands for arm work) and frankly, they could be a lot tougher.

Incidentally, if anyone would like the list of exercises to do with the bands, just let me know.

Today it was yoga, and my new yoga mat is already crumbling, grrrr. I bought it in part because it came with strap and block, and the block is useful, but the mat, eh. Beast's mat, however, is a much classier object.

We followed the yoga session with a spot of furniture moving. Beast was grumbling about our quite new mattress, so we have swapped our 5' bed for the twin beds from bedroom 3, which are zip-and-link. So we now have a 6' wide bed in our room. We shall see. Since the mattresses on the twin beds are traditional sprung mattresses with no foam component, I foresee them not answering, and the whole operation needing to be done in reverse in a couple of weeks' time, sigh. But, it is a bit of extra activity, and that is probably good.

In theory, I think I should spend some time dusting. Ahahahaha.

I think there is a wild creature trapped inside my belly. It is howling.

Today's Covid Coffee Corner post is by me, asking about your creative outlets. Pop over and have a read, and checkout the artwork some respondents have linked.

Also, may I recommend to you this post, and particularly, the comments. Some of them are very amusing.

Yesterday's trainer session was hard work! My lower abdomen reminded me of this when I sat up in bed this morning.
cut for boring stuff about my exercise programme )

Had my first I'm-in-charge session on the Box Office, which was not too busy, but got very stupidly confused over what was in the box at the end of the evening. However, aside from someone very generously overpaying by £20, it all balanced. Hope we get a few more walk-ins tonight, though.
