Icon texture challenge: Red (double set)

colorfilter has an icon texture challenge, and I was tempted. The reds are the first set I did, and I got carried away, so there are actually 24 of these.

Set a:

And, set b:

These were derived from a photo I took of a Japanese maple bush in glorious red leaf. Thereafter, it was playing around with Photoshop's offerings of filters, blending, masks, default brushes... and in one or two cases, a brush I got from the Photoshop Creative magazine.

I have no idea whether these will appeal to other people, but I had a lot of fun making them. If you would like to use any of the above, feel free. Credit is nice, comments are much appreciated.

I love all these sets. I rarely use textures (except in this icon), but they're pretty just to look at anyway. :)

Your icon is lovely and vibrant! I'm not sure whether I'll find a use for these textures myself, but it was fun playing around making them.

These are wonderfully deep and vibrant! Like garnets! Especially the first five. I'm not taking any since it's not the kind of colour I would ever work with, but they're very beautiful to look at.

The colour came up beautifully, I must admit. Don't know that I'll have much use for them, myself, but playing with Photoshop without having any real constraints was a lotta fun.

This was a brilliant idea of colorfilter's. I'm just amazed at the creativity. I liked all your sets, and I'd like to gank your b7 up there - I'm mesmerized by it!

Just like on the green, I like the contrast between color and black a lot, and the red is so vivid!
