Woe is us, we had a power cut (quite a long one, long enough for me to stumble into the garage and find that the handily positioned torch has a flat battery) and our cable modem is not working. I suspect that NTL's magic box somewhere along the road has not managed to reboot. So I'm posting from the laptop, which has our backup internet supplier (!). Ah, the joys of having a paranoid husband.

randomling, I emailed yours back (I think) before the power cut, if you haven't got it let me know and I'll have another go tomorrow.

milosflaca, woez, your beta is done but I cannot send email from my main computer because of the modem failure, and I cannot send it from this one because there is no email account. I hope to get it to you first thing tomorrow morning!

Excellent. I do paint on glass, but it's more practical to do cards in acetate ;-)

Isn't power cuts the most annoying thing on earth?!! I mean, what am I supposed to do when I can't use the computer, can't read because candle light is too weak, and can't cook? The last time it happened I ended up doing the dishes, candle light was quite adequate for that, but it was VERY BORING :-)

We had a power cut one Christmas Eve, fortunately just as I was getting the supper out of the (electric) oven! It went on all evening, but that turned out okay, as we ate our finger-food by candlelight, and played a game of something. It was rather nice.

As a rule, though, I am not in favour of anything that deprives me of computer time!
