D-Day Challenge 2008
Apr. 23rd, 2008 09:21 pmRight! It's Saint George's Day. I'm late getting to this entry because (a) I spent most of the day visiting my Pa in Lincoln, and (b) when I got to teh internetz I was distracted by a soft-pornish description of how fondling the breasts of complete strangers is liberating and important. To which I say, fuck that no.
Anyway. I hereby announce the third Dragon Challenge, this year with added Dwarves and Dolphins. It was a close call, and thank you to all who answered the poll: I originally felt that Diamonds would be the obvious next D to add to the list (and wish I'd thought of Demons, too), but
trumpeterofdoom's lyrical comment about Kevin turning into a dolphin and abandoning his wife and progeny to go swim in the Pacific has persuaded me that Dolphins it must be. Somebody has to write that, you hear?
So, your challenge is to produce a popslash story of 500 words or more, with one or more Dragons, Dwarves and/or Dolphins, whether literal, figurative, metaphorical or something else. If you'd like to seek out inspiration from previous submissions (or just enjoy a Jolly Good Read), the Dragon Challenge Index will lead you to them.
Stories will need to be submitted by June 5th at the latest, and will go live on D-Day, 6th June 2008. If you'd like to participate, please sign up and let me have an email address so that I can send you Appropriate Reminders, and bits of necessary information when it comes to submitting your story.
Oh, and I will be updating the Dragon Challenge header - just haven't had time so far! Excuse the eyewatering colours, 'tis only for today.
Do sign up! There should be more dragons, and more dwarves. And we have canon dolphins, so there should definitely be more of those!
