I conclude that I should like to spend some time shopping wandering around in Norwich.

Beast and I visited the Brats today, bearing many things which had been forgotten. Bun seems to be enjoying herself, Boy is at least bearing up under the strain, and seems to be coping quite well. Having failed to bring along tools with which to reconstruct Bun's fancy chair, we managed to find a Halfords (sigh) which sold us Allan keys and a screwdriver. Then went for a curry and subsequently a wander around Norwich.

Anyone in East Anglia who is thinking of getting married obviously heads for Norwich first. Aside from the incredible number of churches, I swear there's one burgeoning at every street corner, and *two* cathedrals, there are at least FOUR bridalwear shops. Bwuh? There are also, and this was more fun, lots and lots of little, one-off, fun places. An 'alternative clothing' shop featuring some mighty, mighty boots. A Long Tall Sally. A Lush (okay, not a one-off, but nice to have handy). I have to collect my Boy in October for a doctor's appointment, and when I restore him, I think I shall go and browse... It reminds us of Lincoln, without the need for crampons and rope.

The thing about East Anglia is that there is Norwich, and nothing else.

Don't they have the Fens too? (Yeah, I do like Dorothy Sayers :-)

The Fens are pretty much covered by the 'nothing else'. At least in terms of shopping :-)

A very dear friend of mine lives in Norwich. It has always been on my list of places to visit when I finally make it to the UK just to see him. I'm glad to know it's such a delightful place, as well. :)

We have a church for every week of the year and a pub for every day and most (sane) people who live here spend their time trying to get out!

Glad you had fun in Norwich, it does have some rather quaint little shops. I always spend far too much whenever I go though and suffer for it for the rest of the month. It is the downside of living in Norfolk, Norwich is the only place to really spend your money. I have had to limit my trips to 1 per month. How sad for me. :)
