Okay, so one of the brides tonight was, I swear, called Duvet. Doesn't compare for horrifyingness to the one called Latrina, but still.

Latrina! OMG.

And a bridegroom actually promised "I will be a good provider", and I think I found that the most horrific of all.

I have to get unaddicted to this show...

I've been half watching this afternoon and boggled over the bride who thought it was okay to keep the shop open well past the official closing time. Talk about entitled.

I watched that one yesterday - the spoilt redhead, yes? Didn't seem to think it mattered that she was inconveniencing a bunch of people whose only purpose, obviously, was to accommodate her whims.

I think people underestimate 'good provider'.
If you choose to have children and want to spend time with them when young, then 'good provider' is very important.
It may not sound romantic, but a surprising number of romances include it. Very few women in novels fall for poor men...

I think it's very important to provide for a family, but my objection to having it in the wedding service is that it really isn't exclusively the man's job to 'provide'. Also, I dislike the implication that His job, in the marriage, is to make money. I wonder if there was a corresponding vow from Her promising to be a good spender.

I don't think the prospect of a lifelong struggle with poverty is 'romantic', so it's the kind of thing romance novels would definitely avoid!

OMG. I was so addicted to bride shows in my late 20s, but this is more hilarious than I remember.
