Eh, who needs tickets? I just have to open the window.

Take That are playing at Carrow Road tonight. Alas that I am (for the moment) unfamiliar with their oeuvre and cannot tell you what is currently being crooned. I will recognise Greatest Day, should it come up, as we sing it at chorus. Ooh, the crowd is quite lively, too.

Have seen quite a bit of my Bun lately. She recruited me to sing at the Maddermarket Theatre, a couple of rehearsals last week and a brief recording session on Wednesday taping a couple of songs for the forthcoming production of Nell Gwynn. Note to self: acquire tickets for same. It won't be quite as loud as Take That. We had a pause after the recording session for gelati. The place in St Giles Street does a Turkish Delight ice cream that is divine.

We also went out for a nice lunch on my Official Birthday (last Sunday), and are going out again this Sunday for Fathers Day + Boy's Official Birthday. Bun is the only one to attend both gatherings and not be the honoree at either.

I have unpacked my Craft Stuff! There were many boxes, but it is now available to me once more after two years in the Lion's Cage. *happy sigh* Meanwhile, after a distinct and disappointing lull in constructive activity, the builders are back. We have steps to the Library and no longer need risk life and limb leaping from the threshold. Scaffolding is now approaching our remaining chimney—due to be removed in the very near future—and kitchen chaps came in on Thursday to lay protective covering on our shiny new kitchen/dining room floor in preparation for the arrival of the kitchen on Monday.

Monday! *rejoices*

Monday should be quite the day. The trusses have arrived for the garage roof, so there may be builders on site as well as kitchen fitters. I shall flee into town and seek comfy shoes.

We looked at The List today, and there isn't anything on it that we can actually do at the moment—have to wait for the builders/carpenters/kitchen fitters to do their thing first.

Which does make a nice change!

Yay for the new kitchen, though from experience it's hideous getting it installed.

Also, so jealous of the library. We have a room variously referred to as the box room, E's old room, the study and the spare room, according to whether we wish to indicate its size or one of its various functions.

All the books in there are A's, though. And he still has a lot of gubbins for making stuff, though having his aunt visit has helped considerably (he decluttered).

I suspect a new kitchen being installed is way more unpleasant when it's replacing the existing kitchen. This one is going into a room that's empty but for wiring, which should make everyone's life a lot simpler!

The library, while currently stuffed with crap, is a Joyful Thing!

I suspect it was a lot easier on the ears listening to the concert from here than it would have been in the football stadium.

Good luck with renovations. I must admit I didn't realize you guys had planned so much work on your house. I bet you are looking forward to when it is all done- it's been going on for quite awhile.

There are several more weeks to go, but it looks a lot more manageable now than it did back in November, when things got started!

Well. When you come over for Camp, you can come and visit me in this lovely city, and taste it for yourself! By September I should have spare bedrooms again—for the present we have only two usable bedrooms, but when the chimneys are done there will be three spares.

I was about to mail you and ask if it would be okay if I arrived a couple of days early for Camp. Late Wednesday evening probably, if I'm reading assorted time tables right.

It would be splendid! We can have Thursday to look around Norwich, tempt you with Hobbycraft and yarn shops, and taste gelati. \o/

London. Or more precisely Gatwick, since Easyjet stopped using Stanstead last year.

It might be worth looking into flying into Norwich Airport—unless of course you are visiting your family in London? There are daily flights between Amsterdam Schiphol (no idea if I'm spelling that right) and Norwich, and it's quite possible they cost no more than the train fare from Gatwick!

No family in London any longer. They moved home to Sweden when they had kids. (Childcare is horribly expensive in the UK compared to Sweden.) But sadly flights from Amsterdam to Norwich seem all to be fairly expensive. Couldn't find anything under £190 (return) and that's not including the fare from Copenhagen to Amsterdam. So it looks like I'm going to have to go by way of London this year.
