Uh. Okay.

Surprised and quite pleased at how easy it was to follow what was happening (except occasionally in fights, but that always happens). No doubt I missed the subtleties, but that is what DVDs are for. Different characters surprisingly well integrated, and I loved the Thor-meets-Guardians stuff. (Also "I am Groot" = "Are we there yet?" made me lol.)

Liked the Hulk stuff. Want more Hulk. Poor little chap. Hulk therapy. Want fanfic of Hulk in therapy.

Biggest. Dwarf. Ever. (*awesome!!!*)

Rocket was somehow very real. And he grew up, somewhat.

Lots of really irritating moments when 'heroes' refused to do the right thing because feeeelings. Heroes are supposed to be able to make those decisions. Hmph. (Back when I was in college I was on Racine's side - Passion! Passion! Is Important! but nowadays I've a lot more sympathy for Corneille than I had then.) Still, as Dr Strange decision entirely out of character, I assume the Time stone is boobytrapped and will be instrumental in restoring the superhero world to properly commercial status. At the same time, Thanos was able to make the hard decision—and it *was* hard, despite what Gamora thought and despite the fact that Thanos was appallingly abusive as a 'father' and a crappy example of 'love'—which was why he got what he wanted and the Good Guys (TM) did not.

Slightly disappointed that Tony Stark didn't die… though I'm now assuming that Stark, Steve Rogers and maybe even Thor will die heroically in the next movie as they restore the universe to the way it ought to be. I don't think Thor ought to die. The others, okay.

I expect the characters who were *killed* to stay dead, and the ones who were dusted to return. I mean, is Idris Elba really interested in doing more superhero movies? Tom Hiddleston can probably find something more elevated to do. That leaves the Guardians a girl short (gotta have a Girl, after all—at least, I suppose they have Mantis now, but a strong, fightin' girl seems to be essential), but I think Nebula would fit right in to that dysfunctional family. Thinks: does Zoe Saldana want out?

Redskull the Ringwraith was very peculiar; I suppose they did set it up, way back in Captain America: The First Avenger. Except for the cosplaying-a-Ringwraith part. Wow. I would not like to be the person who casually wandered into this film without having seen, well, almost all the preceding Avengers films. And I'm quite glad we had a recap of Captain America 1 and Thor 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 1 before seeing this one.

It was… weird leaving the cinema in uncomfortable silence after a Marvel superhero movie.

I assumed that Dr Strange had seen all possible futures and the one where they won required Tony Stark to be alive.

One person I talked to after seeing the movie was just running down the length of the various actors' remaining contracts, as the most reliable indicator of their characters' futures. It felt rather mechanical but I couldn't say she was wrong.
