Sep. 10th, 2019 04:05 pmI must suppose that the people who devised Yoga were all slender persons with long limbs and short bodies. For my stocky torso and short limbs, many of the poses are annoyingly impossible. I cannot, for instance, get my left elbow to the outside of my right thigh while my hands are in prayer position. ALthough my arms are a lot stronger now, thanks to the instructor's insistence on lots of planks with pressups.
Ah well.
Ah well.

Date: 2019-09-12 04:26 pm (UTC)I found I could not do many yoga poses
that involved bending over or facing downwards on all fours
because my round-belly would get in the way of me holding the pose AND being able to breathe properly!

Date: 2019-09-13 05:13 am (UTC)I am HYPER-flexible - so flexible that it actually causes me problems in non-yoga daily living, so flexible that I probably have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome - and my breasts and belly STILL prevented many poses.
