Tomorrow is D-Day.

There is a marquee in my garden.

The original plan was to have a somewhat larger marquee in my garden, and a giant party for Everyone I Know. Given that the weather forecast is for rain in every hour of tomorrow, maybe it's not so bad… Instead, my kids and bro-in-law are going to come over for a socially distant, outdoor Afternoon Tea (ordered from a local café). There will be loads of room for us, and we can open the panels all along one side. I have also scrubbed the outside loo!

Earlier today, as I looked at the marquee, I thought, I'm going to be 60 tomorrow. Perhaps I should grow up.

Then I thought, nah.

I honestly don't know what D-Day is. I've been seeing some stuff online mentioning it, but that is it.

The original D-Day was in 1944, I think the date when the Normandy Landings went live, as it were. If I'm remembering correctly, there were A, B and C alternates, for secrecy only referred to by letter.

I used to run a popslash Dragon Challenge, which opened for signups on April 23rd, which is St George's Day and seems appropriate for something to do with Dragons. The stories were revealed on D-Day, as in D for Dragon, which being my birthday meant I had a bunch of brand new Dragon stories to read!

I strongly recommend you skip the growing up - it's really not that fun
