It isn't quite true to say that there are no more sparklyfen in my house, there is one besides myself, but
bun18 is still fast asleep, which is No Fun.
There are still sundry mattresses in odd places about the house, and I have acquired a box of parkin and a virgin bottle of Pink Drink (hmm), also there is - amazingly - a portion of sugar death cake (aka Better Than Sex Cake) as yet unconsumed, presumably because my hermit Boy has not noticed it yet. Oh, it was nice to have a houseful of sparkly folk, even if poor
nopseud was suffering and in need of constant hot lemon and honey infusions. We had the beloved familiar footage (PopOdyssey, and dismayed cringeing from
ephemera_pop at the disturbing plushies, and the Simpsons ep, and suchlike) and some new stuff (an interview with Lance in which we discovered that He Has A Lava Lamp, oh dear, oh dearohdearohdear, and a vehicle of such vastness that part of the interview took place quite comfortably in the back of said vehicle).
And I am now entirely convinced that 'A Knight's Tale' should be remade with sparkly cast. Who could disagree? Imagine the scene - 'Sir' Justin (Ulric), Joey (Roland) and Chris (Wat) encounter a stark naked JC ('Jeff' Chaucer, even!)... actually, it's possible nobody would ever watch as far as the scene in which they meet Lance the beautiful blacksmith, or Sir Kevin the Terrible (Adhemar), or Prince Brian (Edward!), or even the beauteous Lady Alex (ahem, Jocelyn) in a succession of silly hats.
You already know (more than you wanted to know) about the lacquered frogs.
And there are new story ideas. Sick and disturbing, mostly, but whatever. These people are a Bad Influence!
So, um. We wanna do a sparkly euro mini-con, quite possibly in November. Think of it - a houseful of sparkly fen from the UK and beyond, getting together to squee and talk about this stuff, and watch the sparkly in an atmosphere of love, far from the outside world... A bit more structured than a come-to-my-house-for-squee weekend, we're thinking of working out some panel discussions, that kind of thing. I believe
nopseud (when she recovers from the plague) and I are going to try and communicate this stuff through
sparklyukfans, which has been dormant for a while. But, if you are enraptured by the thought, join that little community - you can help with the planning! Oh, and tell folks.

I know! It's horrifying really.
Sort of related. We still have your map. I'll post it back for you asap.

Date: 2006-04-10 01:30 pm (UTC)Heaven knows what kind of story ideas will evolve* from such a gathering.
Had forgotten completely about the map! I trust it was useful, though.

Date: 2006-04-10 12:35 pm (UTC)I am glad much fun was had. YAY!!! It sounds like such a wonderful weekend and I so very much wish I could (I don't have the space to even contemplate something like that).
YAY footage, recasting of A Knight's Tale and Oh dear Lord he has a lava lamp?!?
no subject
Date: 2006-04-10 01:31 pm (UTC)A sorta odd-shaped, glittery filled lamp. Hee.

I should in fairness mention that Kevin was positively animated during the Cheese interview...

Date: 2006-04-11 02:34 pm (UTC)Which one is the Cheese interview? I know I've heard the name before but I think I ought to make a notation somewhere about these things because I always forget.

Date: 2006-04-10 04:00 pm (UTC)But you have a HUNDRED Joey stories to write! Surely, between the Joey/Brian and the Joey/Lou, you could squeeze in a teensy little Joey/Diane/Lynn just for me? {bats eyelashes} {coughs pathetically}
no subject
Date: 2006-04-10 05:50 pm (UTC)Besides, I can be quite sufficiently traumatised by the Lance/Lynn (LyLa?) that has occurred to me.
*it just seems like the right thing to say at this point

Date: 2006-04-10 06:00 pm (UTC)You know, if one wrote Lou/Lance, it would LoLa.
I met him in a club, down in Orlando,
Where they drink champange and it tastes just like,
Cherry cola,
C-O-L-A cola.

Date: 2006-04-10 03:35 pm (UTC)No, wait, noI'mNOT, where on earth can this interview be found?!?!?
..after seeing Lance's glittery, unusually-shaped
sextoylava lamp, I may well be speechless, however. It's hard to speak when grinning that broadly. LaLa, HEEEEE!!no subject

Sometimes he sells copies through his ebay page for slightly cheaper. His id is 'kurthowl'. He doesn't have a copy up there at the moment, but you oculd try checking back every so often.

Date: 2006-04-10 05:43 pm (UTC)First, we made Kevin the Bad Guy in 'A Knight's Tale'. Then, we discussed the Things That Happen To Boybanders, you know the stuff: wings, waking up as a girl, bodyswap, turning into an animal... it was concluded that Kevin would, indeed, should turn into a guinea pig. but nobody would notice
I feel I should make it known that these really are Kevin's eyebrows. And there is an animated frog upthread! Yay!
no subject
Date: 2006-04-10 07:11 pm (UTC)You mean Kevin is now walking around WITHOUT EYEBROWS just because you needed a pair to put on some random guinea pig?!?! Blasphemy!!
I did not notice any animated frogs. I did not! I have never and will never ever notice anything like that, ever!!

Date: 2006-04-10 11:18 pm (UTC)Well... I expect a guinea pig can deliver a nasty bite, if pressed.
